Just wow. The long held title of the best performing
windshield mount detector was once the Escort Redline ($549.95). The Escort Redline
was extremely sensitive and lead the performance tests for years but over the past several years as car
manufactures introduced new blind spot and adaptive cruise control
sensors the Escort Redline had become plagued with false alerts. The raw
detecting power of the Redline was amazing but the lacking of good filtering and
no GPS capability to ignore fixed false alerts caused many users to
start to find alternate products.<br />
<br />
Escort's answer to the issue
was the release of the Escort Max 360 ($649.95) and this detector has
shown good promise in having good performance, GPS for false fixed
alerts and a much better filter for false alerts from vehicles on the
road but as of this writing 4/2017 the filtering is still not up to par
with less expensive units such as the Uniden DFR7 ($299.95) or Radenso
XP ($399.95) or even the latest V1 ($399.95). Uniden's answer was the
new <a href="http://www.bestradardetectors.net/Uniden-R1.html">Uniden R1</a> & <a href="http://www.bestradardetectors.net/Uniden-R3.html">Uniden R3</a> series and boy they have a home run with these
new models. The R1 is their base DSP Model priced at only $299.95 and
offers Redline Performance and much better filtering at a fraction of
the price. The R3 is their GPS enabled version for $399.95 and it add's
the ability to mark and ignore fixed false alerts such as automatic
door openers and also includes a red light camera database for the
entire US & Canada.<br />
<br />
Here is a comparison of the sensitivity among the most popular models high end models:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdRVRX2uDVgOtEATXTXVe9n2SyAHJfdFgcRbrvwPQqO1zycF_3-VyjPVuD92spIQyA5-0DnzcCF1_9OXruSsjhv7f1dASRaEwIcJ3xqxkSXh0Gh1II-GgvDqxi95NEBE0hPfSGLv1vLSg/s1600/Teaser.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="291" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdRVRX2uDVgOtEATXTXVe9n2SyAHJfdFgcRbrvwPQqO1zycF_3-VyjPVuD92spIQyA5-0DnzcCF1_9OXruSsjhv7f1dASRaEwIcJ3xqxkSXh0Gh1II-GgvDqxi95NEBE0hPfSGLv1vLSg/s400/Teaser.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
What
you will see here is that the Uniden R1 & R3 have better
performance than some units that cost 2x their price. In recent testing
we have seen the new Uniden models beat even some remotely installed
systems costing $2500 or more which is truly amazing and I personally
think they are under priced and they should be priced higher. At their
current price of $299.95 (Uniden R1) and $399.95 (Uniden R3) they are
incredible bargains and I honestly cant see anyone recommending a higher
priced unit unless they just want to make more money and not recommend
the best product for the money.Best Radar Detectorshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06769520578221306847noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8748693845024262299.post-79153337326820095772015-09-24T13:57:00.000-04:002015-09-24T13:57:03.782-04:00Wow... A Cobra Radar Detector that actually offers performance?Well I guess it was bound to finally happen, Cobra released the new <a href="http://www.bestradardetectors.net/Cobra-DSP9200BT.html">Cobra DSP-9200BT</a> which actually is a good radar detector. <br />

<br />
For years Cobra has been a joke among radar detector enthusiasts and no one ever thought Cobra would release a radar detector that actually offered good performance. <br />
<br />
2015 has been the year that is changing the Escort/Beltronics hold on the performance radar detector market. This year we seen new coming Radenso enter the US market with their Radenso Pro, Uniden came out with the LRD-950 and now Cobra with the Cobra DSP-9200BT. All 3 new products to give Escort & Beltronics a run for their money.Best Radar Detectorshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06769520578221306847noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8748693845024262299.post-13557386668179616232015-08-05T16:59:00.001-04:002015-08-05T16:59:36.379-04:00New Radar Detector player enters the US MarketA new Radar Detector player has entered the US Market, The new radar detector company goes under the name Radenso which is a branch of the Europe company Genevo. The idea of Genevo radar detectors came up in 2009. The development of the
first GPS enabled radar detector started early 2011 and sales launched in late
2012 (1.5years later) but before developing first Genevo models their Engineers
worked for other top 3 companies in the industry for more than 10 years.<br />
<br />
Today
Genevo is bestselling radar detector brand in Europe and the development speed
has increased significantly over time. Genevo is a young, dynamic and fresh
company in the industry with significant success in the market. Genevo is selling several thousand radar detectors yearly in Europe (despite
the fact that radar detectors are prohibited almost everywhere in Europe) and
the expansion to North America under the brand name “Radenso” is the next step
in becoming a global player in the industry.<br />
<br />
We are happy to be the first US Authorized Dealer to carry the <a href="https://www.bestradardetectors.net/Radenso-Radar-Detectors.html">Radenso</a> line of radar detectors. In initial testing the <a href="https://www.bestradardetectors.net/Radenso-PRO-Radar-Detector_p_500.html">Radenso Pro</a> which sells for $399.95 has been offering better performance than Escort's top of the line Max Series which sells for $200 more. The Radenso Pro is a small compact radar detector with great performance and definitely worth its price.<br />

Usually under $99 detectors in these price ranges were junk and usually operated only as ticket notifiers because their sensitivity was usually so poor. When we first tested these units we were shocked that they were keeping up with some detectors costing 3x and 4x their price.<br />
<br />
We had to adjust our <a href="http://www.bestradardetectors.net/Best-Radar-Detector-Reviews.html">2015 Best Radar Detectors</a> list to remove some of the Whistler models and replace them with these new Uniden Models. Under $100 there is no doubt that either of these units are the new leaders in the price category. The performance on the $69 LRD-450 exceeded the performance of any Cobra radar detector that we tested and performed better than any Whistler unit priced $200 or less which is an amazing accomplishment.<br />

Uniden was once prominent in the radar detector business but as time went out they discontinued their models and faded away. In 2015 to our surprise they are getting back into the game and in a big way with releasing some new models priced very aggressively and surprisingly they perform very well. For example their new LRD-750 Retails at $129.95 and we have them priced at $99.95. In this price range there is NOTHING that offers similar protection.<br />
<br />
If you are looking for a budget radar detector with big performance definitely take a look at the new <a href="http://www.bestradardetectors.net/Uniden-Radar-Detectors.html">Uniden Radar Detectors</a> and specifically the LRD750.<br />

about whether red light cameras and speed cameras should be used in the
state. Bills put forward to advance photo enforcement have failed just
as often as legislation that would ban automated ticketing machines.
Last week, the state House of Representatives came up with what a large
majority, 109 to 37, saw as the perfect compromise. They voted to pass
the decision along to the people.<br />
<br />
If the measure passes the state Senate and is signed into law by
Governor Jay Nixon (D), a measure banning red light cameras and speed
cameras would be placed on the August 2, 2016 statewide ballot. The
proposed measure leaves open the use of cameras for automated license
plate readers (ALPR or ANPR) and toll road cameras.<br />
<br />
"No county, city, town, village, municipality, state agency, or other
political subdivision of this state shall enact, adopt, or enforce any
law, ordinance, regulation, order, or other provision that authorizes
the use of an automated traffic enforcement system or systems to
establish evidence that a motor vehicle or its operator is not in
compliance with traffic signals, traffic speeds, or other traffic laws,
ordinances, rules, or regulations on any public street, road or highway
within this state, or to impose or collect any civil or criminal fine,
fee, or penalty for any such noncompliance," the propose ballot language
states.<br />
<br />
Judging by the response in St. Charles County, a suburb of St. Louis,
the cameras would not fare well in an electoral challenge. Of the
county's 379,000 residents who voted in November, 73 percent wanted the red light cameras to be gone. Even the state courts have recently reversed course and begun pushing back against the use of cameras.

passenger -- at least, not without good reason. That was the conclusion
of an appellate panel of the New Jersey Superior Court last month after
considering the case against Tawian Bacome, who was driving a Ford
Bronco when a pair of detectives set up a sting operation in the late
afternoon of April 29, 2011.<br />
<br />
Woodbridge Detectives Brian Jaremczak and Patrick Harris suspected that
the Bronco was involved in a drug deal. They were ready when it passed
by on Route 9. They claimed Bacome's passenger was riding without a
seatbelt and initiated a traffic stop. After Detective Harris said he
saw Bacome reach under his seat, both the driver and passenger were
ordered out of the car. Once the vehicle's door was open, the detectives
saw a rolled up piece of paper and a small piece of Brillo pad, which
they concluded was drug paraphenalia. This became justification for a
search of the SUV, something they intended to do even before the stop
began.<br />
<br />
"I asked him out of the vehicle," Detective Jaremczak testified. "And at
that time it became a narcotic investigation... I did believe that they
went to Newark to purchase narcotics."<br />
<br />
A trial judge considered this sufficient to uphold a conviction for
possession of the crack cocaine that was subsequently found. The
three-judge appellate panel majority disgreed becase there was no reason
to order the passenger out of the car.<br />
<br />
The majority reasoned that a driver could be ordered out of a car
because of the importance of a police officer's safety. Here, the
majority found the detectives were simply operating on a hunch. Failure
to wear a seatbelt is a situation that hardly raises suspicion of
looming danger.<br />
<br />
"The record reveals that much of what motivated this stop and
investigation was the detectives' assumption that defendant and
[passenger] were narcotics users or sellers or both," Judge Fisher
wrote. "The record contains nothing but rumor and innuendo to support
that assertion."<br />
<br />
No evidence of a threat to officer safety was presented at trial, and
the driver's movement did not suggest the passenger was a danger.<br />
<br />
"The order that [the passenger] exit the vehicle was impermissible and
-- because it was the linchpin for all that followed -- defendant's
motion to suppress what was thereafter discovered and seized should have
been granted," Judge Fisher concluded.Best Radar Detectorshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06769520578221306847noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8748693845024262299.post-15720399835335206072015-01-24T10:01:00.004-05:002015-01-24T10:01:53.145-05:00New AL Priority Radar Package Coming Soon!We have been asked by many to expand the radar integration on the AL Priority Laser Defense system to enable it to offer the best Laser & Radar protection in an affordable package.<br />

I remember the days when everyone
would flash upcoming drivers to warn them of fixed speed camera traps
and it was the right thing to do. I mean someone flashes you and you
immediately check your speed and this is a good thing right? I mean its
all about safety right?</span></span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">A case in Missouri was recently filed in
the name of Jerry L. Jarman Jr, a Kansas motorist ticketed on August 24
because he used his headlights to warn oncoming traffic of a speed
trap. Such prosecutions have taken place around the country and now <span style="font-family: inherit;">the </span>common practice of flashing has become a ticketing event </span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">In October,
the ACLU filed a similar lawsuit in Delaware
to fight back. Unlike the Delaware case, where police used a turn
signal statute to outlaw headlight flashing, Grain Valley has a specific
ordinance making it a crime to warn of a speed trap.</span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">Can only wonder what the future will bring. </span></span><br />

In short all 3 of these detectors are really some of the best windshield mounted radar detectors that have ever been created. The Max since it was was introduced has really come a very long way and while it did have a very rough introduction with each firmware version the unit has become much more stable. <br />
<br />
The Max 2 although I cant understand the naming makes you think its a next generation product but its really the same detector but they now added a Bluetooth chip inside the detector so you no longer need a separate Escort Live cable to connect to Escort's Escort Live service. They really in my option named the Max 2 incorrectly and there should be the Escort Max and a Max BT (Embedded Bluetooth). <br />
<br />
In any case the Max & Max 2 are very good detectors now. My preference for raw range is still the Redline but the Max Series are much better than the 9500 series that they replace.Best Radar Detectorshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06769520578221306847noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8748693845024262299.post-71233950821811347032014-11-26T11:55:00.000-05:002014-11-26T14:12:08.094-05:00Black Friday Radar Detector Deals for 2014As we have done in the past we will run a Black Friday -> Cyber Monday Sale for 2014 but because many items we sell are MAP'd we can not advertise these to the public on our site. Best Laser Jammer of 2014The RALETC testing group recently completed their <a href="http://radarandlaserforum.com/content.php/138-AL-Priority-Declared-The-Best-Laser-Jammer-In-The-2014-RALETC-Head-2-Head-Shootout">Annual Laser Jammer Shootout</a> and the results have been posted and the ALP wins Best Laser Jammer 2 years in a row. Not bad since the product only came out 2 years ago and it immediately took the top spot after its initial release.<br />
<br />
There was a surprise with a new LTI gun which was recently released which caused issues for every jammer company but Anti Laser has already responded with a fix and that new gun is no longer an issue.<br />
<br />
"The ALP came on the scene a couple of years ago with one goal. To be
the best performing diode jammer on the market. They continue to get
the latest guns and are fast to update their firmware to tackle them.
The ALP was met with a surprise this weekend on the Truspeed SX as it
appeared on some runs to be IPT and others JTG. During our initial
testing we stopped performing ALP runs after it appeared the ALP was
unsuccessful at jamming this gun, but we later discovered all the
manufacturers had difficulty and even IPT depending on the run. Upon
further review ALP has identified the issue and has already released an
update to address this threat. As of October 25th, none of the other
manufacturers have attempted to address this issue and all had less than
stellar performance depending on the run. ALP continues to provide the
best protection compared to ALL of the other laser jammers and they are
very fast to tackle the latest from the lidar manufacturers. Even the
infamous DragonEye guns were no match for ALP today."<br />

The Truth is the new Escort Passport Max2 is not much different than the original Max.<br />
<br />
Here is a quick <a href="http://www.bestradardetectors.net/404.asp?404;http://www.bestradardetectors.net:80/Differences-between-Passport-Max-vs-Passport-Max2.html">Comparison of the Escort Max & Max2</a><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCk1I65lXf60sWGi1y3vVt6VfQeUUj2a-M3ow6o3tOiJIc9fjOUwh2wBNJFkQ0N7eYseihbwwp-nqpiZxc23ZWdROPBtX3YT4YETq-3HE6dyKSrNew_GeE4Zy2vV4QPO_LNP9Ayje-wUc/s1600/max-or-max2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCk1I65lXf60sWGi1y3vVt6VfQeUUj2a-M3ow6o3tOiJIc9fjOUwh2wBNJFkQ0N7eYseihbwwp-nqpiZxc23ZWdROPBtX3YT4YETq-3HE6dyKSrNew_GeE4Zy2vV4QPO_LNP9Ayje-wUc/s1600/max-or-max2.jpg" height="122" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
In Short... The new Passport Max2 is the same as the
original Passport Max with the exception that it now has built in
Bluetooth for connection to Escort Live using your smartphone, It can now support Spanish & English menus and includes Air Patrol alerts using Escort Live.<br />
<br />
If
you already have the Passport Max there is no need to upgrade to the
new Max2. There will be a firmware update that will give your original
Max the same features of the Max2. We even forgot to post a followup to our previous post regarding the DragonEye Compact and which Laser Defense system would protect against this gun. <br />
<br />
Here was the followup video which we forgot to post:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<object width="320" height="266" class="BLOGGER-youtube-video" classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0" data-thumbnail-src="https://ytimg.googleusercontent.com/vi/xjh7_BI0hc4/0.jpg"><param name="movie" value="https://youtube.googleapis.com/v/xjh7_BI0hc4&source=uds" /><param name="bgcolor" value="#FFFFFF" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><embed width="320" height="266" src="https://youtube.googleapis.com/v/xjh7_BI0hc4&source=uds" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object></div>
<br />
Since that video was released several months ago the AL Priority is still the only Laser Defense system that can protect against that gun. Most competitors still do not even alert to this gun so you dont even have any time to react when hit.<br />
<br />
There have also been a few updates on the AL Priority to also add support for even more new guns that hit the market including the New Stalker XLR w/Anti Jam features which the LSP & Blinder Units also do not alert to.Best Radar Detectorshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06769520578221306847noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8748693845024262299.post-17481836909041420802014-03-01T13:48:00.001-05:002014-03-01T13:48:14.581-05:00Can any Laser Jammers detect the DragonEye Compact?For months we have been asked this question and till today only the AntiLaser AL Priority is the only laser defense product that can detect this extremely hard to detect gun. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiacaZB09oee-JaHdTeoms3f56K6F6OgDKUltAHRzscFkO3zxsuuqdhlW0oIvfNRdqvkvZhXc7m8JNkAoKHNIdQpUrx_c2XYaTpkJoDfKWyIN0M-va2zaukwohMHD4xOBgIt7xejRnRsis/s1600/SPX7800BT.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiacaZB09oee-JaHdTeoms3f56K6F6OgDKUltAHRzscFkO3zxsuuqdhlW0oIvfNRdqvkvZhXc7m8JNkAoKHNIdQpUrx_c2XYaTpkJoDfKWyIN0M-va2zaukwohMHD4xOBgIt7xejRnRsis/s1600/SPX7800BT.jpg" height="241" width="320" /></a></div>
The new SPX Series is the culmination of Cobra’s over 30 years of
experience in building quality, high-performance, radar/laser detectors.
The SPX Series combines following cutting-edge technology to achieve
its supercharged performance – nearly doubling the detection range of
its predecessors:<br /><br />• Ultra-low-noise, signal ampli fiers that once were affordable only to military systems<br />• Low-microwave-loss circuitry utilizing gold-plated circuit boards<br />• Use of ip-chip Mixer/Multiplier diodes in packages that were once unattainable<br />•
First Local Oscillator Transistor (Super-low-noise, high-mobility
J-FET) that has been chosen to optimize signal gain, output power, and
low noise characteristics over its frequency range<br />• Powerful CPU that enables sweeping of the entire police radar band spectrum in less than 240 milliseconds<br />
Looks great on paper especially with the built in Bluetooth chip to connect to both Android & Apple devices. We will have to do some testing to see if Cobra finally came out with something that could compete with the Escort & Beltronics detectors.Best Radar Detectorshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06769520578221306847noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8748693845024262299.post-65426026050863642202014-01-02T19:24:00.001-05:002014-01-02T19:24:10.965-05:00New Escort Laser Shifter Pro Laser JammerI am still baffled that the new Escort Laser Shifter Pro is a re-branded Laser Interceptor Laser Jammer with the Escort name on it. With all of Escort's resources I really was hoping that the new Laser Shifter Pro would be a new product to the market that would fully integrate with their Escort & Beltronics radar detectors.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdl0RxsHFOyd3xejZjDQNtzlkVa3pdXQbdnAD1UKQ4yLWmkj1DjSd1OVblI7ZZZnA5XTLcklO3UsE9MkcbUinAZ4aH_OR00ey3RWLo8NfOyIBM6A98dz-xjy40UcwFZu110MSYVM5UANk/s1600/Escort+Shifter+Pro.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="133" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdl0RxsHFOyd3xejZjDQNtzlkVa3pdXQbdnAD1UKQ4yLWmkj1DjSd1OVblI7ZZZnA5XTLcklO3UsE9MkcbUinAZ4aH_OR00ey3RWLo8NfOyIBM6A98dz-xjy40UcwFZu110MSYVM5UANk/s320/Escort+Shifter+Pro.jpg" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Escort Laser Shifter Pro</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
Instead they released a stand alone product which will retail for slightly above the retail price of the current Laser Interceptor laser jammer. The only good thing is that the Laser Shifter Pro will be sold through all authorized dealers so basically every dealer could not sell the Laser Interceptor under the Escort Name.<br />
<br />
We will test as soon as possible but I could only guess it would perform exactly the same as the current Laser Interceptor systems and if that is the case that leaves <a href="http://www.bestradardetectors.net/AL-Priority-System.html">AL Priority</a> as the current leader in Laser Jamming technology. <br />

They will also in the future add support for the Valentine One.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUvmgt1gMd3jzb1dIWeL6aTGFvJEC2Z3Ml94FINvDVsSN6Qu4DPq4wDBGrbaLGpEpZ4Tn4m5H8XFzEP75q8kMaA29rl7U9DDYBcAgj6D83KZ4xOz5WDXOv0kUIgQgfXbmVp5kTTA92OSc/s1600/ALP-RG-Plugin-3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUvmgt1gMd3jzb1dIWeL6aTGFvJEC2Z3Ml94FINvDVsSN6Qu4DPq4wDBGrbaLGpEpZ4Tn4m5H8XFzEP75q8kMaA29rl7U9DDYBcAgj6D83KZ4xOz5WDXOv0kUIgQgfXbmVp5kTTA92OSc/s320/ALP-RG-Plugin-3.jpg" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">AL Priority R/G Plugin Module</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
And I have it connected to my Beltronics Sti-R Plus head and I confirmed that it does in deed work and communicate properly. I will need to spend more time testing the integration to make sure its response time is just as fast as the regular segmented Sti-R Plus.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrxw0HPHpWgsmKXIbnX0n1tieJGrt1L-OeIx-mzUgn7RMgSCo8Y5Jp0NrDF_XbO0GS7_vINEFjTNrFH4PXHr31Jsr3OPLj77GOnSpN3xylASilhNoJqVXkBwr8sTfWwx-Z424cPeY5s94/s1600/ALP-RG-Plugin-4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="236" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrxw0HPHpWgsmKXIbnX0n1tieJGrt1L-OeIx-mzUgn7RMgSCo8Y5Jp0NrDF_XbO0GS7_vINEFjTNrFH4PXHr31Jsr3OPLj77GOnSpN3xylASilhNoJqVXkBwr8sTfWwx-Z424cPeY5s94/s320/ALP-RG-Plugin-4.jpg" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Al Priority Connected to Sti-R Plus Antenna</td><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><br /></td><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><br /></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
We will keep everyone updated on the progress of this integration but so far all seems to be working well. Without the visual display or the Bluetooth smartphone app and only having tone alerts the experience is not the greatest yet but its coming along. Once the Bluetooth module comes out and we can voice alerts and the visual display it will be much more attractive.<br />

<tr><td></td></tr>
<tr><td></td></tr>
<tr><td class="data"><br />
We get asked all the time what is the best radar detector to buy but unfortunately there is no simple answer. What could be the best radar detector for one person's driving habits use might not be the best for another person. Many factors come into play like do you drive more in the city or highway? Do you travel through areas where radar detectors are illegal? <br />
<br />
The
performance of a radar detector is based on the sensitivity of the
antenna and how quickly the detector can take received information,
filter out false alerts and give you an alert leaving you enough time to
react. When purchasing a radar detector this is one of the most important features to look for. We will only discuss and recommend detectors with good sensitivity.<br />
<br />
If you need a custom installed radar detector then the answer is pretty simple because one remote detector stands out from the rest and that is the <a href="http://www.bestradardetectors.net/Beltronics-STi-R-Plus-Radar-Detector.html">Beltronics Sti-R Plus</a> - The Sti-R plus is a serious custom installed remote radar detector for the person who wants the best and can afford it. This is not an inexpensive unit but its the best overall remote installed radar and laser detector.<br />
<br />
For
windshield mounted radar detectors there are several top choices and the types of driving that you do will distinguish which one is best for you .
Windshield mounted units are the most common radar detectors since they
just plug in the cigarette lighter and you suction the mount to the
windshield.<br />
<br style="font-weight: bold;" />
<span style="color: red; font-weight: bold;">Best Radar Detector Under $500</span> - The best overall unit you can get if you do not live in Virginia or Washington DC and
you will also use it for city driving is the
<a href="http://www.bestradardetectors.net/Escort-Passport-9500ix-Radar-Detector.html">Escort 9500ix</a>
If you do live in Virginia or Washington DC or drive mostly on highways the best
unit would be the <a href="http://www.bestradardetectors.net/Escort-Passport-Redline-Radar-Detector.hml">Escort Redline</a>.
The Escort Redline is by far the most sensitive windshield mounted
detector but in the city because of its blistering sensitivity it could pick up many false alerts. For a more detailed comparison between these two best
windshield mounted radar detectors visit the <a href="http://www.bestradardetectors.net/Escort-9500ix-vs-Escort-Redline.html">Escort 9500ix vs Escort Redline</a> comparison page.<br />
<br />
<span style="color: red; font-weight: bold;">Best Radar Detector Under $400</span> - In this price range clearly the winner is the new <a href="http://www.bestradardetectors.net/Beltronics-PRO-500-Radar-Detector.html" title="Bel Pro 500">Beltronics Pro-500</a>. The PRO-500 shares the same platform as the higher priced Escort 9500ix but lacks only one feature (Auto Learn). Visit our <a href="http://www.bestradardetectors.net/Compare-Escort-9500ix-vs-Beltronics-PRO-500.html" title="Beltronics Pro 500 vs Escort 9500ix comparison">Beltronics PRO 500 vs. Escort 9500ix</a>
comparison page for a listing of all the differences. Performance is the same
with both of these radar detectors but there are some feature and
packaging differences.<br />
<br />
<span style="color: red; font-weight: bold;">Best Radar Detector Under $300</span> - The <a href="http://www.bestradardetectors.net/Beltronics-PRO-300-Radar-Detector.html">Beltronics PRO 300</a>
which recently replaced the long standing RX65. It has increased
sensitivity over the old model which gives you more time to react when
it goes off but it also give you less false alerts because of the improved filtering. The only RX65 also could not alert to some of the new laser guns on the market but the new PRO-300 does. If you dont need GPS and under $300 is your budget this is the unit to get.<br />
<br />
<span style="color: red; font-weight: bold;">Best Radar Detector Under $200</span> - There are a few good units in this price category. Whistler just
refreshed their lineup and introduced the new CR Series. Two of these
units are excellent detectors for their price range and worthy to be in
the best under $200 category. The <a href="http://www.bestradardetectors.net/Whistler-CR85-Radar-Detector.html" title="Whistler CR85">Whistler CR85</a> ($149.95) is their new high performance radar detector and the <a href="http://www.bestradardetectors.net/Whistler-CR90-Radar-Detector.html" title="Whistler CR90">Whistler CR90</a>
($189.95) is the same as the CR85 but it adds an internal gps antenna,
This enables the CR90 to also give you red light camera and fixed speed
camera protection.<br />
<br />
<span style="color: red; font-weight: bold;">Best Radar Detector Under $100</span> Unfortunately detectors under $100 do not necessarily qualify for the 'BEST'
title because they can not complete with the performance of the higher priced
units but if you are on a budget we would recommend the
<a href="http://www.bestradardetectors.net/Whistler-PRO-68SE-Radar-Detector.html">Whistler PRO-68SE</a> for
$99.95 as a decent entry level radar detector.<br />
<br />
We will update this listing with raw test results which will give you more detail and clearly show the performance difference between these models very shortly.</td></tr>

The Escort Passport Max we rate as the best overall windshield mounted radar detector and while it had a rough start with several firmware updates under its belt many original issues have been corrected. The biggest gripe many have with this radar detector is Escorts marketing claims which claimed it was the best radar detector with the maximum range of any other radar detector.<br />
<br />
The Escort Max is not the longest range radar detector ever made but it is close to the performance of the Escort Redline which we will discuss later. It is however the most sensitive gps enabled radar detector and does replace the Escort 9500ix as the leader in this category.<br />
<br />
For city drivers the use of a radar detector can be a huge annoyance because there are many false alerts that you will encounter. The most common false will be from automatic door openers that share the same frequency of police radar. While these sensors are not looking for speed they are using radar to sense motion and trigger their doors to open when people are walking into the stores.<br />
<br />
Sensitive detectors like the Escort Redline or Valentine One will constantly go off because they are so sensitive that they can many times detect these sensors several hundred feet away. I live in NJ and I can tell you that running a non gps detector down a main city road the false alerts are almost non stop, Its almost desensitizing that when I see a real threat I can tend to ignore it because I am used to the false alerts in the city.<br />
<br />
The Passport Max has an auto learn function that keeps track of your driving and notes every alert it detects in its internal database. AutoLearn technology uses the power of GPS and the exact frequency of the false alert and automatically will reject unwanted door openers and other fixed position false alerts on future passes making it extremely quiet in the city.<br />
<br />
If you are looking for the best radar detector to use in the city and you can afford it, The passport max is the best detector for your money.<br />

The Escort Redline is a great detector and there is no doubt about that. If you are a highway driver this unit is awesome and it is the most sensitive windshield mounted radar detector built to date. Its built on the solid M3 antenna platform which is a dual antenna that offers the best off-axis protection available. I have received alerts around hills and curves with no issues with the Redline.<br />
<br />
In areas where detectors are not allowed such as Virginia, Washington DC and parts of Canada this detector has been the favorite. Its the only detector in the Top 3 that is undetectable by police RDD's (Radar Detector Detectors) which are devices used to sniff out vehicles using radar detectors in banned areas, If you live in one of these areas and want a radar detector this is the detector to get hands down.<br />
<br />
I have seen many videos from customers of ours (See <a href="http://www.bestradardetectors.net/Escort-Redline-Detailed-Review.html">Escort Redline Detailed Review</a>) on our website for videos that will show the Escort Redline detecting threats as far away as 10 miles. This is a crazy sensitive detector and for Highway use this detector is simply the best.<br />
<br />
The latest firmware update on the Escort Redline with enhanced RDR/BS options enables you to now have advanced Band Segmentation ability which was once
only available on the much higher priced custom installed Beltronics Sti-R Plus. BS
(Band Segmentation) allows users to select certain frequency ranges
within the KA band to turn on or off. Removing certain bands from the
scan that you know are not used in real police radar allows the Redline to scan the
KA Band much faster.<br />
<br />
RDR (Radar Detector Rejection) option with the new Expert Firmware was
not an option you could turn off in previous editions. This option
allows the detectors to eliminate False alerts caused from nearby radar
detectors in other vehicles. While this works great to eliminate false
alerts it causes the detector to pause (Only for Miliseconds) while it
determines if the alert is a false or a real threat. The problem is I/O
and POP Radar are very fast and having this option on could cause the
Redline to not alert to one of these real threats.<br />
<br />
Using RDR & BS at the same time almost turbo charges the response
time of the Redline (<a href="http://www.bestradardetectors.net/Escort-Redline-with-RDR-BS-Options.html">See Escort RDR/BS Video</a>) while not adding many additional false alerts.
Since you eliminate segments of the non real police frequencies you can
eliminate many of these false alerts and you can use the RDR Off
function to dramatically increase the response time of the detector.
These are not features the average user should play with without
guidance of knowing what is used in their area. We can help with
setting up your Redline properly in your area.<br />
<br />
So to sum it up if you are a highway driver or live in an area where radar detectors are banned the Escort Redline is the best highway performing radar detector. <br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Valentine 1</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
While we do not sell the Valentine 1 there could not be a top 3 without it. For many years the Valentine was the leader of the industry and was considered by enthusiasts the best radar detector around. Times have changed and Valentine has let the Redline pass it as the most sensitive detector. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The Valentine 1 is a highway radar detector like the Escort Redline. It does not have the stealth capability that the Redline so if you are in a Virginia, Washington DC or parts of Canada this is not the detector for you.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
What is does have that makes it special is two separate antenna's (One in the Front and one in the Rear) so the valentine can help pin point the direction where the signal is stronger to give you an idea where the signal is coming from.</div>
